CO-CREATION
To catalyze systemic change in the industry, it is imperative to shine a spotlight on product origins and manufacturing processes. In the Cocreation Section of the HxN Toollkit sets our proposal apart from other sustainable fashion initiatives.
We aim to establish a collaborative environment in which toolkit participants can form partnerships to start new ventures, solve problems and share insights and new innovations in the production process of textile industry and other sectors. Our toolkit will serve as a platform where designers and producers can find solutions to build circularity and scale up their businesses. In this way, participants will co-create and expand the toolkit resources.
We envision that the platform will increase visibility of the sustainable fashion industry and expose participants to funding opportunities from impact investors.
By bringing stakeholders together from all areas of the fashion industry, we hope to accelerate the radical shift towards sustainability that we know is gathering strength around the world.
CHALLENGES PROGRAM
IGNITING CIRCULAR FASHION THROUGH COLLABORATION LET YOUR TALENT MEET THE CHALLENGE!
In the Toolkit project, we are focusing on promoting traceability throughout the value chain; building the reputation of natural fibers and underscoring the value of ancestral wisdom. Also, we are facilitating training and building resources for artisans, designers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Through our proposed platform, we plan to deliver circular, sustainable solutions to designers, producers and fashion practitioners. We hope to help MSMEs scale-up their ventures in a sustainable manner and enable designers, to utilize circular design techniques, guided by the theme of collaboration.
Nowadays, we are facing increasingly complex supply chains, involving many layers of suppliers and producers, artisans and manufacturers. We believe that when we bring the customer closer to the producer - if not geographically, then technologically - supply chain risks diminish and consumer awareness grows.
Our toolkit will be composed of three distinct:
1) Consumers
2) SMES
3) Co-creation solutions
Participants will engage with a diverse array of topics, including alternative materials to technology implementation to supply chain vulnerabilities. Through interactive educational activities, users will gain skills and ideas for collaboration they can use in the final phase of the toolkit project.
The Challenges Program is part of the Co-creation solutions. The final stage of our vision - often referred to as an “ecosystem” - sets our proposal apart from other sustainable fashion initiatives. We aim to establish a collaborative environment in which toolkit participants can form partnerships to start new ventures, solve problems and share insights.
We envision that the platform will increase visibility of the sustainable fashion industry and expose participants to funding opportunities from impact investors. By bringing stakeholders together from all areas of the fashion industry, we hope to accelerate the radical shift towards sustainability that we know is gathering strength around the world. The paradigm in the textile industry is challenging and prejudicial throughout the supply chain, with issues that touch on unskilled labor, environmental degradation, lack of governmental regulation, and economic injustices. The Challenges program is a call for action to everyone.
HXN EVENTS AT THE U.N. HIGH-LEVEL POLITICAL FORUM AGENDA 2020
In 2016, Hecho por Nosotros (HxN) obtained special consultative status with UN ECOSOC. This was a game-changer achievement as it allowed HxN access to different high-level international forums to promote its philosophy, raise awareness about the most pressing issues within the fashion industry, and join efforts with other organizations (i.e. UNIDO, ECLAC, UNECE, UNCTAD, ITC, among others), businesses, governments and entrepreneurs in order to foster sustainable fashion.

Based on our experience and years of collaborating with different stakeholders within the industry, from artisan communities to governments, we have witnessed how advancing a sustainable fashion agenda can mitigate poverty, boost local economic development, have a positive impact on the environment and communities.
HxN is part of a select group of experts called upon to contribute to a multistakeholder program held by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on transparency and traceability in the garment and footwear sector.
We are also working alongside the International Trade Center (ITC) to develop an inclusive and sustainable value chain of Andean Camelid Fibers by implementing sustainable business practices in the sourcing of raw materials and strengthening community-based natural resource management.
