HxN Challenge Program: Latin America
The HxN Challenge Program seeks to contribute to the ecosystem of sustainable companies of the textile and fashion industry in the Latin American region, taking into account the business culture, its consumers, natural resources, and social impact. The challenges faced include assisting to scale new markets with new products and better designs to companies that already have a sustainable production method, or even assisting in the business strategy of companies and microenterprises that are starting their sustainable operations in the region. We count with the help of a collaboration group of different fields that counsel and support these businesses with innovative solutions in each of the subjects. In its initial phase, the program has already two companies in Latin America and more companies in the pipeline to be included in the second phase.
Today's global market enjoys enormous potential in terms of sustainability. However, Latin America is still not organized in a way in which good practices as well as the wealth of natural fibers, ancestral arts and local enterprises based on holistic systems in the region have access to the necessary tools to incorporate themselves within global market dynamics. Our challenge is to foster collaborative networks and technological tools that enable transparency between the chain of production and the consumer. In sum, the goal of our work is for Latin America to become a real alternative solution to the problems that face the textile and fashion industry.
